Kosovo police give details/ How the 3 officers were kidnapped by the Serbian

The spokesperson of the Kosovo Police, Bali Kelani, appeared in a press conference about the kidnapping of 3 border policemen by the special units of Serbia.

Kelani said that the 3 policemen were peacekeepers and only enforced the law. He stated that the kidnapping of three officers took place within the territory of Kosovo.

"Each police officer knows his duties, how he should act and how they are defined both by law and by procedure, but sometimes the situation and the form of the case direct him differently and in this case, seeing that it was an organized action , a classic kidnapping, this case happened as it did", said the spokesperson, while showing the course of the event.

"Initially, the police unit consisting of three border officials saw that suspicious, masked and armed persons were moving in the vicinity of that location, and that they were suspected to have been the forces of the armed units of Serbia. Immediately the police units with other units went with assistance to that location where upon reaching there they noticed only the official vehicle and not the three border police officers.

As for the issue that they say they are in the territory of Serbia, I tell you that they have been at a static point preventing the introduction of illegal things into the territory of Kosovo. They have prevented an exploitation of the roads used by Serbia. The place where it happened is within the territory of the Republic of Kosovo", he said.

Kelani stated that international mechanisms and KFOR have been informed about this event./ CNA.al
