An eight-month-old boy had to have a nail clipper removed from his throat - after he accidentally swallowed the tool.

Shocking pictures show multiple doctors desperately trying to remove the scissors on Monday (September 19) in Nashik district in western India.

The toddler swallowed a 5cm nail clipper while playing and was rushed to hospital after his parents noticed.

A jaw X-ray clearly shows the contraption lodged in the baby's neck - almost blocking his entire throat.

After being referred to a specialist at Pawar Medical College in Adgaon, India, the child operated for an hour before the scissors were removed. The child survived and is doing well following the procedure./ CNA.al Source: Daily Mail
