Several people have died after a bus crashed into a bus stop in central Stockholm today.
The double-decker bus crash occurred in the Ostermalm area of ??the Swedish capital at around 3pm local time. Police have since cordoned off Valhallavägen, the road near the KTH Royal Institute of Technology where the accident occurred, and are seeking evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
Local media reported that several members of the public were seriously injured in the accident. Police said several people were killed and injured, although they did not specify how many were involved. They have since arrested the bus driver and opened an investigation into aggravated murder.
A spokesman for the Stockholm rescue services said at least five people were affected by the collision, although he did not confirm how many of them were dead or injured.
Dozens of emergency services workers, including police, paramedics and firefighters, are still at the scene.
