Massive flooding in northern India/ 4 dead and around 100 missing

A mudslide from a flash flood has swept through a town in India's Himalayan region, ripping down a mountain valley before collapsing buildings and killing at least four people, while about 100 others are missing.

Videos broadcast on Indian media showed a terrifying wave of muddy water sweeping away apartment blocks in the tourist region of Dharali in Uttarakhand state.

Several people could be seen running before being swept away by the dark waves of debris that toppled buildings.

The Indian army said 150 troops had arrived in the city, helping to rescue about 20 people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences and said no stone will be left unturned in providing assistance. /CNA
