"The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in the Islamic Republic of Iran has officially started its activities and has been working since Sunday," according to the official news agency, IRNA, which quoted an "informed source" in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Iran.

Riyadh has not officially confirmed the reopening of its embassy in Iran.

In June, Iran marked the opening of its Embassy in Riyadh with a flag-raising ceremony.

Iranian media had blamed the building's poor condition for delays in reopening the Saudi Embassy, ??which was damaged during protests in 2016.

According to the news agency, the Saudi diplomats will work from a luxury hotel in the Iranian capital until the completion of the work on the Embassy building.

Since the March agreement, Saudi Arabia has also adjusted relations with Iran's ally, Syria, and has pushed for peace in Yemen, where it has been leading a military coalition against Iran-backed Houthi forces for many years.
