The opposition parties in Serbia have sent a letter to Josep Borell expressing concern about the possibility of imposing sanctions on Serbia due to the September 24 attack.

They have asked the EU to take measures against President Aleksandar Vucic.

"Aleksandër Vucic's political and personal responsibility for the current situation is obvious, therefore, every possible measure should be imposed on him and his closest political allies," the letter reads.

Condemning any attempt to solve political problems with violence, they also emphasize a large number of violent and unjustified actions against the Serbian population in the north of Kosovo undertaken by the government of Albin Kurti.

According to them, Vucic should not generate international support as an exclusive interlocutor. For the Serbian opposition, a democratic government is a prerequisite for seeking long-term solutions to complex problems, both in Kosovo and for broader stability and peace in the Western Balkans region./ CNA
