A month and a half of fighting between Israel and Hamas/Balance of victims

On October 7 of this year, Hamas launched several attacks in Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking about 240 hostages.

Since then, counterattacks by the Israeli army have continued, first from the air and then from the ground.

Gaza's Hamas-run Ministry of Health says Israel has killed more than 14,000 people.

The war is not yet over, while an agreement has been reached for a four-day ceasefire, which started this morning.

According to the agreement, Hamas releases 50 hostages, while Israel releases 150 Palestinian prisoners and allows humanitarian aid to enter the besieged area.

Gunfire and explosions and an airstrike were seen and heard by journalists near Gaza moments before the pause took effect.

Israel Defense Forces warn "the war is not over yet" and say the humanitarian pause is "temporary"./ CNA
