The parents of a Michigan teenager who killed four students have each been sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison. 

James and Jennifer Crumbley are the first parents of a teenage murderer to be convicted in the US state. Both expressed regret for the attack on their son, while their lawyers asked to minimize their prison sentences.

The couple were convicted after they dismissed clear signs their son's mental health had deteriorated and then bought Ethan Crumbley the gun he used in the 2021 attack.

Their son was 15 when he killed four students with a semi-automatic pistol at Oxford High School. Seven others were seriously injured by the shooting.

Now he is serving life in prison without parole./ CNA
