The Israeli cabinet will discuss the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah

Israel's cabinet will meet on Tuesday to discuss a 60-day ceasefire deal with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Israeli troops launched a ground invasion of Lebanon almost two months ago in response to nearly a year of rocket attacks by Hezbollah.

According to reports, the deal would see Israeli troops gradually withdraw from Lebanon, while Hezbollah would leave the Israeli border.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is said to have agreed to the deal "in principle".

Last evening, Israel continued its attacks on Hezbollah, focusing on the Syria-Lebanon border. Lebanese authorities say at least 31 people were killed by Israeli strikes on Monday.
