International Criminal Court criticizes US sanctions

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, imposed sanctions against the International Criminal Court based in The Hague, Netherlands.

Trump argued that the Court has taken illegitimate and baseless actions against the United States and its ally, Israel.

The International Criminal Court has reacted to the executive order distributed by the White House.

She called on member states on Friday to oppose the sanctions imposed by President Donald Trump, describing the move as an attempt to "harm its independent and impartial judicial work."

"The Court stands firmly with its employees and pledges to continue to provide justice and hope to millions of innocent victims of atrocities around the world."

"We call on the 125 member states, civil society, and all countries of the world to stand united for justice and fundamental human rights," the statement said.
