Photo-New York Balloon Parade Begins/The City is Filled with Iconic Characters and Colors

New York City is enveloped in a very pleasant atmosphere by the variety of giant balloons deployed in the 2025 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The annual balloon release celebration is held this Wednesday in the Upper West Side area of ??Manhattan.

This year will be the 99th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and will include a new KPop Demon Hunters balloon and a LABUBU float, among other things.

"Every balloon you'll see in the parade is being prepared right now. We're lowering all the nets, all the tents. We'll inflate the balloons with helium," an official said.

Officials say it takes about 90 minutes to inflate each balloon and when they are finished, some can be up to five stories tall. /CNA
