Some Americans killed by war in Israel?/ Blinken: We are verifying every report

The wave of attacks launched by the Hamas militant group on Saturday morning has been escalating.

So far, about 1,000 victims have been reported, while the USA has also reacted to the Palestine-Israel situation.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the US Government has received reports of several Americans killed in attacks in Israel.

Blinken said efforts are being made to verify any reports of Americans killed or missing.

"We're looking into specific additional requests that the Israelis have made. I think you'll likely hear more about that later today," Blinken said on CNN's "State of the Union."

In response to Republican accusations that the administration of President Joe Biden appeased Iran and that the thawing of Iranian funds contributed to the situation in Israel, Blinken stated that no money has been spent from the frozen funds intended for humanitarian purposes.

"So people are either misinformed or have been misinformed. And either way, it's wrong," he said./ CNA
