Ukraine talks in Berlin/ Zelensky: We have made progress on many issues

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday that progress had been made on many issues during two days of talks between Ukraine and the United States in Berlin and insisted that his country's position had been heard.

"There are some things that, in my opinion, are destructive and definitely will not help us. It is important that I do not see them in our new draft documents today. Of course, we have different positions with Russia on territories. It is important that we were heard. I have a deep understanding of the details of this war, and it is very important that our colleagues from the United States heard all these details," Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president added that it is very important for Kiev to know that the American delegation also understands Ukraine's position.

The delegations in Berlin were led by Zelenskyy and Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Zelensky was careful not to go into detail about what exactly was discussed at the negotiating table, but acknowledged that the issue of occupied territories was painful. /CNA
