How Veliaj used his "brothers-in-law" for political attacks

CNA has uncovered the scheme of how Erion Veliaj's wife and her family members became art and culture managers, profiting millions from this activity, after her son-in-law came to power.

It all started with Ajola Xoxa, Veliaj's wife, a lawyer by profession, who left justice in the shadows to become an art curator.

Ajola created "Harabel" in January 2018, a company that has promoted works of art funded by the Tirana incinerator company. Veliaj's wife's company has reportedly collaborated with the Opera and Ballet Theater and the Ministry of Culture, and has also received payments from the latter.

Later, Ajola's uncle, Erald Simixhiu, is also involved in art and culture, opening the "Eventus" center as an NGO in Albania in 2021, where his wife, Linda Kazani, is the director. "Eventus" has received 5 payments from the Municipality of Tirana, worth about 93 million and two payments from the Ministry of Culture. Simixhiu also opened the "Art Lab" company in 2021, which he has in his name and declared a profit of 93 million lek in one year of work.

 

After her wife and uncle, Veliaj's mother-in-law, Ajola's mother, also got involved in art management. Valbona Xoxa created the company "AVA STUDIO" and in a few months earned tens of thousands of euros.

But what happens? There is another detail.

Beyond the schemes, beyond the fact that the mayor's wife's family members receive funds from the Municipality of Tirana with the signature of their son-in-law, Erion Veliaj, it turns out that they were also used for politics by Erion Veliaj.

The fact is that "The Music Company Tirana", which belongs to the "Eventus" center of Ajola Xoxa's uncle and uncle's daughter-in-law, has reacted after a gesture by the political leader of the Democratic Party, Belind Këlliçi. The stance seems to be political.

So, besides the fact that they received money from the Municipality for activities and events, it is proven that the connection was political.

The service that these companies have provided to Veliaj is both political and propagandistic.

The case of Belind Këlliç's reaction shows that there is a political order from Erion Veliaj, who on the other hand says I have no connection, I don't know the woman's uncle, the woman's uncle's daughter-in-law, I don't know their reactions to politics, while he has signed the payments and they react publicly and defend him politically.
