The democratic deputy, Luan Baçi, has denounced the situation of drinking water in the country, where it is stated that Albanians are supplied with polluted water and that the residents are paying large sums to receive this basic life service.

According to the democratic deputy, the main reason is the lack of clocks in citizens' homes, as well as their control by the relevant administration.

During his speech in the Assembly, Baçi said that Albanians are supplied with drinking water only 16 hours a day.

"We are not at all against reforms, but when these violate the laws and are implemented without any consultation, they conflict with the public and we are against it. Until now, in 10 years, water supply has been problematic and there have been abusive tenders. 77% of the territory is covered with drinking water. Today, Albanians are supplied with drinking water 16 hours a day. They are stealing and wasting water. The villages of Albania do not have drinking water. In Frakull, Peshtan, they do not have water in their taps. The water that is considered drinking water is polluted and cannot even be used for washing. Residents complain about water charges and pollution. Lack of water meters is the main reason for high water bills. Fier Waterworks has no plan for water management, and the number of the measures that need to be set", said Baçi./CNA
