The Court of Appeal of the General Jurisdiction gave the "life imprisonment" decision for Mejit Picari, who killed his son-in-law, Kudrejt Saliaj, with a gun.
As for Dhurata Saliaj, Kudrejt Saliaj's ex-wife was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison. The latter was declared guilty of creating the conditions to commit the murder.
The serious event happened in 2021. The couple Dhurata and Kudret Saliaj were in the process of divorce because they had a disagreement, when the serious crime happened in June 2021.
The victim, Kudret Saliaj, arrived at a bar near the Tirana court, where he was waiting for the next divorce hearing to take place and was in the presence of his lawyer and a social worker.
His father-in-law Mejit Picari, after observing him together with his daughter Dhurata Saliaj, shot the son-in-law to death, while the lawyer Adriatik Cami was also injured in the incident.
