In addition to the decline in the level of learning in Albanian schools, the global survey of 15-year-olds (PISA) found that, among Albanian students, dissatisfaction with life has increased.
In 2022, almost 12% of students in Albania reported that they were not satisfied with their lives. They rated their satisfaction with life between 0 and 4 on a scale that ranged from 0 to 10.
In addition to the test for learning knowledge, PISA also conducts a survey with students and school leaders to measure the phenomena that affect students such as bullying, the school environment as a whole and in terms of infrastructure, logistics for the normal development of learning.
In 2022, 86% of students in Albania reported that they make friends easily at school (OECD average: 76%) and 85% felt they belonged at school (OECD average: 75%).
Meanwhile, 15% reported feeling lonely at school and 15% like an outsider or left out at school.
75% of students in Albania reported that, in most math lessons, the teacher shows interest in each student's learning, while in 2012 about 78% of students thought this way.
The PISA survey verified that many students study mathematics in a disciplinary climate that is not conducive to learning. In 2022, around 25% of students in Albania reported that they could not do well in most or all lessons (OECD average: 23%).
Also 28% of students do not listen to what the teacher is saying, 25% of students are distracted by using digital devices and 24% are distracted by other students using digital devices.
PISA 2022 data shows that in education systems where performance remained high and students' sense of satisfaction improved, they tended to feel safer and less exposed to bullying and other risks in their school.
In Albania, 8% of students reported that they did not feel safe on the way to school, 6% of students reported that they did not feel safe in their classrooms at school, 9% of students reported that they did not feel safe in other places in Albania. school (eg corridor, cafeteria, bathroom).
PISA data collected from school principals shows that the percentage of parents who were involved in school and learning decreased significantly between 2018 and 2022 in many countries, but also in Albania.
In 2022, it turns out that about 52% of parents are interested in the results and educational progress of their children compared to 70%, which was this indicator in 2018./ Monitor.al
