Murder at the Court of Appeals/Balla: Criminal aggression, measures to be taken

The Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, has reacted after the serious incident that occurred today at the Court of Appeal in Tirana, where judge Astrit Kalaja was killed after several gunshots inside the courtroom.

Through a reaction on social media, Balla strongly condemns the aggression that occurred this Monday.

Balla has called for measures to be taken to increase the internal security of prosecutors' offices and courts.

"I strongly condemn the criminal aggression that occurred today at the Court of Appeal in Tirana, where judge Astrit Kalaja lost his life and two other people were injured. On behalf of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, I express my condolences to the family of the deceased Astrit Kalaja. May he rest in peace. Today's event urgently requires the tightening of criminal policy against illegal possession of weapons. Measures must also be taken to increase the internal security of prosecutors' offices and courts," Balla wrote./CNA
