The plane that is extinguishing the flames in Mali e Chika

The Minister of Defense Niko Peleshi has announced that for several hours they are working from the ground and the air to put out the flames in Malin e Çikas.

In a post on Facebook, the minister informs that the fire has been brought under control from the direction of Palasa and work is continuing in the other part in the direction of Himara.

He also called on citizens to be careful with lighting fires, as deliberate arson is punishable and those responsible will be brought to justice!

"Efforts from the ground and the air have been going on for hours to put out the flames in the only hearth that we have in the entire territory of the country, the one in Mali e Çikas. The fire has been brought under control from the direction of Palasa and work is continuing in the other part in the direction of Himara. Thanks to the quick reaction during the last 24 hours, 11 fires have been extinguished in the districts of Fier, Tirana, Korça and Shkodra. Acknowledgments to the FA operatives, the fire brigade, but also to the engaged volunteers. Thanks to the European Civil Protection Mechanism for the quick response and assistance provided.

A call to all citizens: Protect the environment, protect yourself and others, being careful with the lighting of fires! Deliberate arson is punished and those responsible will go to justice! /CNA.al
