Veliaj reacts after Ahmetaj's accusations

Former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahemtajt, during an interview a few days ago, called the mayor Erion Veliaj the de facto owner of Tirana's incinerator.

Veliaj reacted to the media paid by the incinerators for Ahmetaj's accusations, saying that a man who escapes responsibility and then slanders, does not deserve comment.

The mayor said that who is a man stands face to face.

"So to comment on someone who runs away from justice, runs away from responsibility and then slanders, I don't believe it deserves comment. Who is a man sits here and faces, as all of us communicate daily with SPAK and can exchange dozens of letters a day, for infinity of processes. Sometimes it has nothing to do with the municipality, but the municipality has information on how this permit was given, who was the designer, where, let's say, there was an enterprise or an incident. So the municipality is still a big information center and I believe that we have been one of the most correct institutions in this relationship with SPAK and in a total transparency", stated Veliaj./ CNA
