He was prosecuted for the protest while he was in the US/ Këlliçi:

Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi spoke this evening regarding the police's handling of the protest, without physically being at the protest.

In a television appearance, Këlliçi said that what makes everything even more unimaginable is that the police did not come out in a statement to say that it was a slip of the tongue. Among other things, he added that the police in this case acted on political orders.

"To be in the opposition, you have to do a lot of calculations, in relation to the ruling media and the attacks that will come. But I had not imagined that it would reach this kind of banality. I also saw the reactions the next day. It is unimaginable that they did not even withdraw or say that it was a slip. I left for the USA, before the date of the protest was even set. These can be verified quite simply through the TIMS system. In fact, I was hostage to the fact that I was not in the protest but I was close to the citizens and members of the DP, I gave interviews, I made public calls for participation. But these are normal political activities, they have nothing to do with inciting violence or violating the law. I have been doing this activity for 13 years.  I invite them to make this file public, take it to SPAK and to come to any police officer who has even a hint against me. If these individuals attack me politically, they will not repel me.  Meanwhile, on the 20th, they will have me in the front row of the protest. The level of "The mediocrity of this majority but also of these institutions that are ready to attack anyone who has a voice against the government. The police have definitely received an order to prosecute me ," said Këlliçi. /CNA
