Can the Prime Minister be overthrown from within the Socialist Party?/

Journalist Klodian Tomorri declares that Prime Minister Edi Rama faces no threat from within the Socialist Party parliamentary group. According to him, the majority of MPs are "obedient soldiers" and do not dare to challenge Rama.

Tomorri emphasizes that, despite internal rivalries, the government keeps the MPs united. He adds that in Albania it does not seem possible for a prime minister to be overthrown from within the majority, as happens in other developed countries such as Britain or Italy.

The statements come as debates over the majority's political stability continue.

"I don't think that Edi Rama will be harmed by Zeqineja, Sara Mila or the entire parliamentary group of the Socialist Party. They are a few soldiers, all of them, for the most part, are obedient soldiers... There are none who dare to rebel against Edi Rama and there is something that holds them together, despite the grudges they may have with each other and which they have very big, of course. It is the power that holds them together. They know that the moment Rama is hit, they will all be finished and it will be a domino effect. That is why I am not so optimistic to believe that in Albania the moment has finally come when prime ministers can be overthrown even from within the majority, as usually happens in Britain, or in Italy or in developed countries", said journalist Klodian Tomorri./ CNA
