SP Secretary General Blendi Klosi delivered his speech at the meeting of the Special Commission on Territorial Reform. Klosi said that the essence of the reform and what should be discussed is not the number of municipalities but the function they will perform.

He added, among other things, that members of the majority and opposition must overcome the phase of distrust in each other in order for the committee's work to continue.

"We are here because the 2015 reform has taken things forward, but in a 10-year discussion, we have moments that we will discuss. The essence is not whether we have more or fewer municipalities, so the number, the problem is the function. This is what we need to discuss. From the experience we have on the ground with the citizens, we must give way to the process. If we are distrustful, it means that we have damaged this table and this process, which is very delicate. On Thursday, we will not have this harmony with each other, we will be on another level of adrenaline. We must tell each other and the public, we did not set ourselves the July deadline to carry out a reform. We are a special parliamentary commission. We have a task, but the deadline is set. If we want these mechanisms that we raise for discussion to be valid in the 2027 race. July is whether it is done or not, not whether we want it or whether we decide it.
