One day before Independence Day / Rama travels to Kosovo, agenda revealed

Prime Minister Edi Rama will travel to Kosovo today for a working visit. During his stay in Pristina, Rama will meet with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, and then with the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.

It is reported that the head of government will participate in the promotion of the book "When Silence Speaks" by author Ahmet Shala, as well as hold an open lecture with the youth of "Hasan Prishtina" University and students of "Sami Frashëri" High School.

His visit comes a day before Kosovo's Independence Day. Through a statement, the Kosovo police announced that measures have been taken to maintain order during the stay of Rama and the delegation from Albania.

"On February 16, 2026, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, will pay an official visit to the Republic of Kosovo. On this occasion, the Kosovo Police, during this visit, will take care of maintaining public order and peace as well as regulating traffic, during the movement of the escort and the stay of the delegation in Kosovo.

"To enable the free movement of the escort according to the movement itinerary from the Airport border crossing point, as well as the development of activities according to the official agenda of the visit, the Kosovo Police will temporarily interrupt traffic flow (in short time intervals) on several road segments (where the escort is expected to pass), where there may be a reorientation of traffic to alternative routes. The Kosovo Police requests full understanding from citizens and traffic participants," the Kosovo Police statement reads.   /CNA
