The United States has decided to temporarily suspend the issuance of visas for Albanian citizens, in a measure related to increased control over immigration and the use of social schemes, according to journalist Neritan Sejamini.
Invited to the show Opinion, Sejamini said that the Trump administration is expected to consider ways to limit immigration visas for citizens of countries that, according to statistics, have benefited the most from social schemes.
He adds that the US government has analyzed the number of Albanians living in the US and their economic activity, emphasizing that future measures will aim to reduce the burden on the American state.
Sejamini warns that these changes could tighten the criteria for citizens seeking an immigration visa, aiming to favor those who actively contribute to the labor market and do not rely on social assistance./ CNA
