European Summit/ Tirana International Airport successfully hosted and escorted

Tirana International Airport, within the framework of the European Political Community Summit, hosted and escorted 47 high-level delegations, guaranteeing full continuity of regular flights.

Tirana International Airport (TIA) has successfully concluded one of the most important and complex operations of this year, hosting and escorting 47 high-level delegations with prime ministers and presidents from across Europe, who participated in the European Political Community Summit 2025, held for the first time in Tirana on May 15 and 16.

TIA managed to efficiently manage not only the high flows of official visits, but also guaranteed full air traffic continuity for regular flights, without causing any cancellations or significant delays for passengers. This large-scale operation was carried out in accordance with all international security standards and diplomatic protocol, providing a welcoming experience worthy of the high level of this event.

The success of this management is the result of the dedication of the airport staff, as well as the strategic investments made by the Kastrati Group in the modernization of TIA's infrastructure. The delegations were welcomed at the airport's renovated runway, 3 kilometers long, which now allows the landing and take-off of aircraft of all capacities, including large intercontinental aircraft.

In parallel, works on the new airport facade are nearing completion, positioning TIA among the most modern and aesthetically advanced airports in the region and beyond.
