Snowfall and rain/ This is the condition of the road axes in the country

This weekend has been accompanied by rain in many places as well as snowfall in mountainous areas.

The Albanian Road Authority has made an update regarding the state of the road axes.

The condition is reported as follows:

The snowfall has started in the south-eastern area and in the axes of Dajti, where the snow plows are on the ground and traffic continues without problems.

In Përrenjas-Librazhd, in Xhyre, as a result of the rain accompanied by strong wind, a tree fell on the road, which was immediately removed.

In the Northern Region, heavy snowfall has continued, work groups are on the ground with tools and workers to clean the road and distribute salt, traffic continues without interruption.

In the Qafë Murrizi Bypass, due to heavy snowfalls accompanied by storms and vehicle users who are not equipped with winter tires or chains, the circulation of vehicles and snowplows has become difficult.

Work is underway to move vehicles from the roadway to allow snowplows to continue clearing the road.

Drivers should be equipped with winter tires and chains when traveling to segments with the presence of snow, reduce speed, respect the signs and instructions of the Traffic Police./ CNA
