Hundreds of citizens and exponents of the DP have gathered at noon this Wednesday in front of the building of the Special Prosecutor's Office.

They started a protest in support of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, who will be informed of the accusations regarding the "Partizani" file today.

In addition, numerous police forces are seen in front of SPAK to ensure the smooth progress of the protest of Berisha's supporters.

The protest was called by the head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi.

We remind you that since December 30, the chairman of the DP is under house arrest.

The Special Prosecutor's Office accuses the former prime minister of "Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", carried out in cooperation with his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezin.

SPAK claims that Berisha, in his capacity as Prime Minister, favored the privatization procedures of the former "Partizani" complex and that Malltezi was the direct beneficiary.

Malltezi is accused of "Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", carried out in cooperation with Berisha./  CNA
