Journalist Julian Hoxhaj has spoken about the affairs and abuses of public money by the Municipality of Tirana and the mayor Erion Veliaj.

Invited to the show of journalist Adi Krasta, journalist Julian Hoxhaj said that Veliaj abusively manages 380 million euros per year.

"It's generally true. This appears in moments when you see that citizens are stolen, abused, the government exerts force on them, takes money from them through direct bribery or through the increase of taxes, abusive fees, and the citizens remain silent.

We live in a capital city where the cost of living has peaked at the boiling point where pilaf no longer holds water.

We live in a city where 80% of families do not have public nurseries and kindergartens where they can take their children and are forced to pay extra money for a service that they have a constitutional right to receive and still do not receive. And again there is no reaction.

There are no kindergartens, nurseries, or schools in the Astir area. Yesterday, Tirana was collapsing due to traffic and the only area that did not have traffic collapsing was Astiri because there are no schools here.

The municipality of Tirana is the largest municipality in the country where 40% of the population of Albania lives. We are dealing with the capital of the country and the public and media interest is extraordinary for an institution that manages about 380 million euros per year. The denunciations about the Municipality of Tirana are countless. The big things concern the incinerators affair, the 5D affair that we have denounced and not only, public tenders that are given in a suspicious and abusive manner, waste of public money for money that goes only to the clientelistic interests of the mayor", said Hoxhaj. / CNA
