Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about cyberattacks at a conference on "Confronting Information Manipulation and Foreign Intervention: Albania and the Context of Enlargement", organized by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

According to Rama, today you no longer need an army to destabilize a country; today attacks are carried out through technology, crossing borders not physically, but by silently infiltrating data.

The Prime Minister stated that Albania has been the victim of aggressive cyber attacks, but has responded very strongly.

"Today manipulation travels at the speed of an algorithm. The point is that you no longer need an army to destabilize a country. Attacks do not start with someone crossing physical borders, they start with silence against data, perception. Two weeks ago Romania suffered a cyberattack that froze the entire cadastre system, transactions stopped, public services were suspended.

"Today, even though we were attacked aggressively, we responded by creating one of the strongest defenses, relying on new intelligence," Rama said./ CNA
