The passing of Archbishop Anastas/Begaj: Albania lost its spiritual leader

Albanian President Bajram Begaj has reacted after the passing of Archbishop of All Albania Anastasios Janullatos.

Begaj, in his message, states that today Albania lost its spiritual leader.  

“Albania lost today His Beatitude, the Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all of Albania, Prof. Dr. Anastas, the spiritual leader and prominent figure of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania.

During his leadership, His Beatitude led the Church with wisdom, dedication and love for the people, contributing to its strengthening and creating a new path for the Albanian Orthodox faith, especially after the difficult period that has passed. He was a tireless example of spiritual dedication and a guide for all who followed him.

At this painful moment, we express our deepest condolences to the Church and to all the faithful, who have lost their father and chief shepherd, a beloved and respected leader. His Beatitude's legacy will always remain alive in the hearts of those who honored and loved him.

We pray that God grants him rest in the tents of the righteous and may his memory be eternal!", writes Begaj./ CNA
