"Albanian Media Facing the Phenomenon of Disinformation"/ AMA

The Audiovisual Media Authority (AMA) held a productive roundtable this Thursday, concluding the project carried out by the "Faktoje" center, with the support of the AMA, on the fight against the phenomenon of Disinformation.

The findings presented today by "Faktoje" showed that raising journalists' awareness of the consequences of this phenomenon in distorting public opinion is only one step in a battle that must be taken very seriously.

AMA, headed by Armela Krasniqi, called on the media for professional reporting, for providing information confirmed by multiple sources and accurate, for accountability and the importance of proper reporting in informing the public.

AMA also supports such initiatives, which carry out a series of trainings for journalists on the phenomenon of disinformation in times of war, even though this does not fall within the legislative field or the expertise of the institution.

The roundtable brought together representatives of civil society, Parliament and journalists, who engaged in constructive discussions on the transparency of online media ownership and the strengthening of professional journalism in service of the public. /CNA
