"They made my back in stripes"/Mit'hat Havari's chilling

The former senior police leader, Mit'hat Havari, has confessed the torture and horror he experienced while he was arrested in 1990 after the anti-communist demonstration in Elbasan.

During an interview with the journalist Marsela Karapançi, Havari said that the violence against them was inhuman and that 4 months in that isolation equates to 40 years of life.

"They made stripes on my back... Their violence was inhumane." "We beat him but he didn't make a sound", someone told me. They couldn't get enough and wanted me to say enough. I remember 4 months like 40 years of life. Isolated under the pressure of psychological terror", confessed the former senior director of the police.

Furthermore, Havari told about the moment when he became the director of those who tortured him in prison but he did not act like them.

"I was super stylish out of trouble with those stinking rations they gave us. I have a mole on my face. That barber was an animal type, he had a brother there in the interior branch who was the director of propaganda. I kept it running and didn't take it off after that. I told him be careful I have this mole here on my cheek and he did it like he did it on purpose. The first time I didn't pay attention.

The second time it blew up and I made it too big and they didn't bring it to me again. Then when I came to power, in the second era, I saw him there, I called that chief of staff, I told him to get rid of him, and I took him Albert Tafanin, the famous singer of Elbasan, who had also had consequences", he said.

Havari continues his story by telling about the architects of file 4171. He says that part of the investigators knew about them but not officially.

He says he kept one of them at work, while the other Gani Zeneli says he was ungrateful.

"Albania was the last country in Eastern Europe to open the files. If it was Berisha, he wouldn't do it. Fortunately, the director is an honorable lady Gentjana Sula. He opened a door for me. When I received the file I was shocked. I knew a part but not officially.

They were full of will because they were too many totally ignorant animals for a piece of bread. They were ready to kill. Albanian mothers have said that their son depends on you. I haven't met anyone after 90 since I got the file, I didn't deserve it, it's not worth it.

I will also publish the complete file, but I have not seen these. One that impressed me in the file was kept at work, I put him on probation, I told him that we did not come to do as you do, one of them was Gani Zeneli, I mention that he is ungrateful. And when I found it in the file", Havari revealed.

In the book where he narrated his story, Havari tells about the moment he was released from prison and when he got his first job, as part of the order.

He says that he did not go for revenge.

"At the time when the brave men of 326 were using violence... Nothing else happened but when I introduced myself to 92, I told them I didn't come for revenge. In the office I made a promise.

Before '90 in Albania the order was 100% safe, the dictatorships have it. This police was used to working in an Albania that was used to wire and barbed wire. But in democracy, people exploded, they were freed, and cars were introduced. The police were backward and poorly educated. I was the only one there who spoke English. Hi Hila, I had those connections of mine: I heard that you are going to be the head of the branch. Listen here, he said, with those writings that I have seen you will become a god in three days. There you will find a very low level, he told me", he confessed.

He then tells how the book of his life looked to the children.

"I did not influence my children because I did not want to influence their formation. When Claudio had reached the moment of arrest in the book that I have covered, he told me that my father likes me very much, but I was sad from that moment. Several times my life has been on the line. That's how we grew up as a people without a religion without a god, the only god was Enver. In the end I started to believe, I said there is a god. They now read, they are mature. To know how their father grew up", said Havari./ CNA
