Ilir Proda is expected to be approved at the meeting of the Council of Ministers as the new director of the State Police.

His name was proposed this Monday by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Proda, who has held several high positions, has worked for about 19 years in the ranks of the police.

During his career, he is remembered for two sensational operations.

One of them is the arrest of Nuredin Duman. Proda was one of the initiators and organizers of the arrest of Duman, who turned into a repentant justice and confessed to major crimes.

Also, he is known as one of the leaders of the Police who turned Artan (Marjus) Tafanin into a penitent of justice.

Tafani also helped the officers solve 6 murders with his confessions.

He has also initiated other operations, but he has also been targeted by the SPAK during the investigation into the de-conspiracy of the "Chopja" operation in Elbasan.

However, after the verification, he was found to be clean and his candidacy for director of the State Police was confirmed.
