Sali Berisha's lawyer has made a statement to the media regarding their request to exclude the trial panel from the "Partizani" case.
Gjokutaj said that this request came because the court does not enjoy the status of an independent court.
The lawyer further stated that it was requested that the case be tried by a court of general jurisdiction since these courts are not monitored by a special prosecutor's office.
" The next session, there was a small debate. In the preliminary inquiries, we raised the request for the exclusion of the trial panel. This court does not enjoy the status of an independent court. We have no problems with the integrity of the judges. The Courts of General Jurisdiction do not have surveillance measures against them or their families by a special prosecutor's office. This request does not stop here. Our inquiry is basic ," said Gjokutaj./ CNA
