The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, has visited the Regional Hospital of Vlora, where the staff of doctors and nurses are facing the increased flow of vacationers during this tourist season.

Minister Koçiu first stopped at the Emergency Department of the hospital, which offers services according to the most contemporary standards for citizens, but also for local and foreign vacationers during the summer season.

Koçiu said that the Emergency of Vlora takes on special importance in the summer season due to the influx that the city of Vlora has during the summer, especially increased with the increase in the number of foreign tourists.

About 12,000 calls to the National Emergency number 127 have been from the city of Vlora alone during this season, where the medical staff has also made 6,645 visits to the residence.

"The number of foreign tourists who come to Albania has increased, so even if they have any problematic symptoms, institutions such as hospitals, emergency rooms and health centers will have to cope with the influx. This requires a very good coordination of all health structures and teams to react quickly", said Minister Koçiu.
