DP leader Sali Berisha has reacted to Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements to the Financial Times.

During the interview, Rama denied being the "Godfather of Albania", while giving a response to the protesters who demand his removal and consider him responsible for the development of the luxury resort in Zvërnec.

Berisha condemned the unqualified insults that Edi Rama made to Albanians in the largest international media.

"Secondly, I once again salute the tens of thousands of citizens who, in extraordinary conditions of unprecedented heat, once again filled the streets and boulevards of Tirana yesterday until the early hours of the morning, demanding the immediate removal of the narco-dictator. I call on Albanian citizens, big and small, to join this protest at any time and in any case. This magnificent protest that sows hope in every Albanian heart.

I call on the diaspora to remain, as it is today, engaged in this great mission of saving Albania from a regime that in many aspects has damaged the Albanian nation more than any other regime before it. I condemn with the greatest force the unqualified insults that Edi Rama makes to Albanians in the largest international media.

I guarantee that neither Gaddafi, nor Saddam, nor Maduro have allowed themselves the language that Edi Rama used in the Financial Times towards Albanians. This has proven the boundless hatred he has towards Albanian citizens. His insult was shocking to the journalist and the audience present.

Edi Rama does not behave like a godfather, much worse than the godfather of Albania. Edi Rama considers Albania a sultanate of bygone times, in which he himself acts as the sultan, judge, policeman and every other function.

Edi Rama should leave a minute ago. Even if he goes behind the sun, he goes like a peerless thief of his nation. He goes like the man who built the first and only narco-state in Europe in Albania.

"He went as a traitor to a nation that did everything, committed a calculated genocide against it to drive Albanians out of Albania, a fierce enemy of Albanians in Albania, in Kosovo and everywhere in the world," Berisha said./ CNA
