Rama's attacks on judges/ Metani: Every insult is unconstitutional, magistrates should exercise restraint

The leader of ILD, Artur Metani, in his report to the Parliament on the activities of 2024, was also asked about political attacks on magistrates, specifically the attacks of the prime minister.

Metani stated that judges must seek independence from any interest and said that any insult is unconstitutional.

Further, the head of the ILD said that he has asked the magistrates to exercise restraint as political statements cannot dictate the work of judges. Metani stated that he cannot act with emotions towards these statements.

" I have taken a stand on every statement made by politicians and Prime Minister Rama.

Judges must seek independence from any interest. Any insult is unconstitutional. I have asked magistrates for restraint because political statements should not dictate the level of work of judges.

"I am not allowed to have emotions, I will see if there are elements about the work of the ILD in those statements ," Metani declared.
