Palm Sunday/His Beatitude, John's sermon at the "Resurrection of

Orthodox believers celebrate today, Palm Sunday.

This day marks the entry of the Lord Christ into Jerusalem.

The Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all Albania, His Beatitude, Joan, delivered his sermon at the "Resurrection of Christ" Orthodox Church in Tirana.

" The 40 days of Great Lent technically ended on Friday evening. As the Troparion says, after completing the 40 days, the Church pauses. We have two very big feasts, great festivals of Christianity, to begin the Great Week where Lent becomes even stronger and where the experience of the entire saving work of God through his suffering, crucifixion, and resurrection becomes more intense. On these two days, the Church reminds us of something very important.

Lazarus Saturday reminded us of the resurrection, and the raising of Lazarus was a prophecy in action. By raising Lazarus, the Lord showed not only his own resurrection, but the resurrection of all. One day we will all face this. The Church calls us to take this seriously. Because something happens in the Church that, as the famous saying in the Orthodox Church says, “God is above reason, but not outside reason.” There is an explanation, but it surpasses our human explanation. On great feasts, something is repeated, today Lazarus is raised, today Christ comes, today Christ was born. What should be said when the church says today? It says the essence of the ministry and mysteries of the Orthodox Church, because everything that God touches does not stop with history. Everything that God has touched, He makes present,” said His Beatitude John during his sermon./ CNA
