The former Minister of Justice, Ylli Manjani, says that the public denunciations made by the former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj deserve real investigations.
He also listed the incidents that, according to him, should be immediately investigated by the authorities, such as: the actual ownership of Erion Veliaj to the Tirana incinerator, Ecopark, AKSHI, Llogara Tunnel, 10 billion euros of infrastructure tenders and 5 billion of Tirana Municipality.
The former minister emphasizes that if the SPAK had chosen to talk to Ahmetaj and Mirel Mërtir, to confront the facts with the statements, it would have built the integrated logic of this issue which is not 3, but 1 and with several participants.
According to him, this way it would have been found who is the originator of the incinerators, who were the executors of the idea, who were the beneficiaries of it and who were the workers who contributed to save the workplace.
Manjani underlines that the rush to arrest without conducting full investigations, without exploring the possibility of making any internal collaborators, basically damages the investigation.
Manjani adds that SPAK was conceived for the big ones, not for directors and specialists.

Complaints that deserve investigation.
Undoubtedly, Ben Ahmetaj's public statements have the value of a serious denunciation. They are denunciations and not like those "popular whistleblowers" to whom others write their complaints.
Ben's allegations deserve real investigation. Investigations not relativistic counter-statements.
All the episodes in the statement must be investigated:
- the actual ownership of Erion Velija in the Tirana Incinerator,
- Ecopark,
- AKSHI,
- Llogara Tunnel,
- 10 billion euros of tenders in the structure,
- 5 billion of Tirana Municipality,
And yes, undoubtedly also Mrs. Millonai's "room of the threshing floor". This also deserves serious investigation because it severely and very seriously compromises faith in justice.
On the other hand, the Ahmetaj case shows once again that the rush to arrest without conducting investigations is a serious mistake.
If SPAK had chosen to talk with Ahmetaj or even with Mërtir, to compare the facts with the statements, to cross-check statements and contradictions, to verify statements and encourage other whistleblowers to come forward, to connect the depositions with concrete facts, to built the integrated logic of this issue which is not 3 but 1 and with some participants, it would have been more successful.
He would have really found out who is the originator of the incinerators, who were the executors of the idea, who were the beneficiaries of it and who were the workers who contributed to save the workplace.
So SPAK would have a complete and integrated logic and a hierarchy of responsible persons, and not seize and arrest whatever comes up.
The rush to arrest without conducting thorough investigations, without exploring the possibility of making any insider accomplices, fundamentally undermines the investigation. (Actually, such cases always require. You are a collaborator from within)..
A flawed investigation does not lead to the truth. It can punish people with effort, but it does not reveal the truth and does not prevent evil.
I am convinced of this, already proven by evidence such as the "Ahmetaj" case.
On the other hand, the episodes that Ahmetaj reported and which require in-depth investigation, show that SPAK has not yet entered the essence of evil. The issue is that 10 billion Euro tenders in infrastructure are not covered either with a director who refused to implement the minister's illegal orders and ended up in criminal prosecution, nor with the paintings that were found in the home of another director. 10 billion euros should lead to criminal prosecution, if any, minister and above. That 10 billion has been funneled into a very small handful of people. This is evident.
Just like the modest funds of the Lushnje or Bulqizë municipalities, they cannot wash the face of the 5 billion euro tenders of the Tirana Municipality, whose corrupt face cannot be covered even by the "5D" issue.
This situation is not the work of directors, people! I am not saying that they are not responsible, but the scheme is built to ensure longevity in power. For this, money is needed, and this money will come from this closed corrupt scheme. Steal money and keep power.
Spak was conceived for the great, not for directors and specialists. It was designed to break corrupt schemes, like the one we are immersed in, so steal money and keep power!
Ben Ahmetaj's statements cannot be relativized with the expression "required by justice". After all, such statements are made by these people and in such circumstances. Serious societies and institutions treat these statements seriously.
In a free society and democratic institutions, the whistleblower cannot be punished. Even when the latter is in trouble. That's how denunciations are, always out of trouble.
And finally, we all have high expectations of whatever a finance minister of the most corrupt country on earth says. But not realizing the expectations we have cannot lead us to ignore the denunciations he makes./ CNA
