The competition for the construction of the new port in Porto Romano is open. 15 international companies have expressed interest in the construction of the new port.

In her speech, the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, stated that this is a special moment for the country's infrastructure.

The minister emphasized that we will build a port twice as deep as the one we have today in Durrës. 

"A special moment for the country's infrastructure. We have called it the port of Albanians, because it will connect Albanians. In cooperation with NATO, we have cooperated for financing this port. With the commercial port in Porto Romano, we will have two ports in Durrës de Vlorës, commercial ports and marine marinas. We will build a port twice as deep as the one we have today in Durrës, a 3-times bigger container terminal," said Balluku.

She further added that within 2024, 3 new projects will be delivered. 

"We will deliver the Vlora airport project, the Great Ring of Tirana and the Murriz Tunnel," she said./CNA
