The Ministry of Defense announces that in the last 24 hours, the work to extinguish fires in several areas of the country has continued without interruption.

13 fires out of 20 identified in the last 24 hours have been extinguished, including the fire in the waste field in the city of Vlora.

Fires are active in the village of Zogaj, municipality of Tropoje, which is completely isolated on the border with the municipality of Has, and continues to be active with low intensity in the north of the Hajdarmataj neighborhood.

"Local government structures supported by the Armed Forces are continuing the operation in that area. But work is being done to extinguish the fire in the village of Hoten, municipality of Vau Dejës. The fire has low intensity and does not pose a danger to residential areas. The fire in the village of Mal "Shengjin, the municipality of Lezhë, which has been active for several days, spread immediately yesterday afternoon, putting businesses and residential areas at risk. After the intervention from the air, it became possible to avoid danger for the citizens," the announcement states.

Meanwhile, the ground and air operation continues today. The fire continues to be active in the village of Zavalin, Elbasan municipality, where local government structures supported by the Armed Forces are engaged in action.

Work is continuing in two other foci, in the hills of the Viroi lake, in Gjirokastër and Lozhan village, Maliq municipality.
