Over 80 cm of snow on the Perdolec Pass/ Difficulties on some routes, avalanches

The difficult situation with heavy snowfalls continues in the north of the country. Until the early hours of the morning, the Hani Hotit-Vermosh axis was covered in snow, accompanied by strong winds at an altitude of over 700 meters.

The thickness of the snow on the Perdolec Pass has reached over 80 cm.

Due to the drop in temperatures and difficult conditions, the use of winter tires is recommended during movement along the entire axis, while in the Perdolec Pass section (Gropat e Selcës - Vermosh / Dogana Branch) the use of chains is advisable, due to the snow brought by strong winds from the slopes.

Meanwhile, the Qafë Thore-Theth segment has been closed since yesterday evening, in cooperation with the police, due to the danger posed by avalanches for vehicle drivers.

There were avalanches during the night, but without causing damage. /CNA
