The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj

The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, today accepted the Credential Letters from the new Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Union in our country, Christiane Hohmann.

After welcoming him to Albania and assuring him of his and the Albanian institutions' support, President Begaj expressed his gratitude for the political support and financial assistance that the EU has given Albania in the last three decades.

Begaj shprehu gjithashtu besimin se ardhja e Hohmann në Tiranë do t’u japë një shtytje të re marrëdhënieve të Shqipërisë me institucionet e Bashkimit Europian, si dhe vetë procesit të negociatave të aderimit në BE.

Ndër të tjera nënvizoi vullnetin politik të institucioneve shqiptare për të përparuar në rrugën e reformave, duke theksuar se integrimi europian mbetet projekti dhe prioriteti më madhor i Shqipërisë dhe shqiptarëve.

"Aware of the challenges and difficulties that the EU itself and its member countries are going through after the Russian aggression in Ukraine, I express the belief that the European Union's attention to the Western Balkan region will be even greater, considering the process of expansion as the best geopolitical instrument for addressing threats to the peace and security of the region and the continent as a whole", underlined President Begaj./ CNA.al
