The macabre murder of Ilaria Sula/The Rome Prosecutor's Office requests

The Rome prosecutor's office has requested life imprisonment for Mark Samson, the perpetrator of the murder of Albanian student Iliaria Sula, who was also her boyfriend.

The young Filipino has admitted to the crime, while being charged with aggravated murder with premeditation and concealment of the victim's body. During their closing arguments, prosecutors stated that the murder was planned by Samson and executed in cold blood.

laria Sula was stabbed to death inside an apartment in Rome by her Filipino boyfriend. The 23-year-old then stuffed the victim's body inside a suitcase and took it to a wooded area in Poli, where it was found by authorities.

The young Filipino was arrested shortly after the incident, while his mother was also investigated for the murder for concealing the crime. It was Ilaria's cell phone records that revealed the 23-year-old, who used the Albanian student's phone to exchange messages, as well as to publish posts on Ilaria's social networks. /CNA
