China proposes limits/ No more than 2 hours of phone time for children

China's Cyberspace Administration has proposed some rules restricting the use of phones.

The administration wants to approve the rule to not allow more than two hours a day to use smartphones by those under 18 years of age.

Specifically, it is proposed that users from 16-18 years old spend up to two hours a day on the phone, ages 8-16 up to one hour, while children under 8 years old only 8 minutes.

However, the administration states that parents will be allowed to remove the restrictions for their children.

In addition, minors will be prohibited from accessing the Internet on their phones from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sky News reports.

The proposal comes at a time when Chinese authorities are increasingly concerned about young people's addiction to the Internet.
