OFFICIAL/ European football is "shaken", the big club is excluded from the championship

The famous French club, Lyon, has been relegated to Ligue 2 due to financial problems. 

Following a meeting with the French football financial authority, Lyon have been officially relegated to Ligue 2, according to an announcement from the LFP.

This decision comes after a previous warning that if the club's financial situation did not improve, the consequences would be relegation to the second category.

Despite Eagle Football Group's efforts, including the sale of shares in Crystal Palace and the Lyon women's team, DNCG has not been convinced of the club's financial stability.

Owner John Textor had given positive signals after the meeting, emphasizing investments and improving liquidity, but these were not enough.

As a result, Lyon will compete in Ligue 2 next season.
