Schick's hat-trick sees Leverkusen into Champions League zone

Bayer Leverkusen won 4-1 against Leipzig, ending their opponents' five-game winning streak and moving into the top four with two weeks to go.

Leipzig started the match better, with Cardoso taking a risk in the opening minutes and then seeing a shot go wide of the target.

However, in the 25th minute Patrik Schick scored the first goal for the home team. At the end of the first half, Tella scored for 2-0 after an assist from Aleix Garcia.

In the second half, Leverkusen controlled the game and Schick scored twice more, completing the hat-trick.

Leipzig only found a consolation goal through Christoph Baumgartner late on. With this victory, Leverkusen holds the fate of a Champions League spot in their hands, while Leipzig still needs a win in their remaining two games.
