Milan chooses new coach, a Portuguese for the bench

Milan appear to have chosen Ruben Amorim as their new coach for next season, as negotiations between the parties are nearing their final stages.

The agreement is expected to be three years or two years with an option to renew for another season, with a salary of around 4 million euros per year.

The Portuguese coach has accepted the conditions set by the red and black leaders and has not been affected by Milan's absence from the Champions League. After the experience at Manchester United, Amorim had thought about taking a break for a season, but the Milan project has convinced him to immediately return to the bench.

 

With his arrival, a significant change in the philosophy of the game and the composition of the team is expected. Amorim prefers a three-back formation, mainly 3-4-3 and 3-5-2, with a game based on pressing, possession and the use of the wings.

Mike Maignan is considered a key player in the new project, while the defensive department could undergo significant changes. Strahinja Pavlovic is seen as a player suitable for the Portuguese coach's system, while Milan are expected to intervene in the transfer market to complete the team according to his requirements.
