Inter suffers heavy blow, striker loses derby against Milan

Inter have suffered a serious blow after Lautaro Martinez's medical examinations.

The Argentine striker suffered a muscle strain in his left calf during the match against Bodo/Glimt.

According to the official announcement from the black and blue club, his condition will be reassessed after a week, but initial predictions point to an absence of at least 3 to 4 weeks.

This means Lautaro will miss the matches against Lecce, the return leg against Bodo, as well as the clashes with Genoa and Como. The most significant absence is expected to be the derby against Milan on March 8.

If the recovery goes according to plan, coach Chivu hopes to have the captain ready for the match against Roma on April 4, taking advantage of the international break for the final phase of rehabilitation.
